Privacy Policy

The short version

We collect as little as we can. We do not sell your personal information, ever, to anyone. If you send us a message we use your details to reply. If you subscribe to a mailing list we use your address to send you that list, and you can leave whenever you like.

1. Who is responsible for your data

Bunny Moon Publishing LLC, an independent book publisher registered in the State of Wyoming, United States, at 30 N Gould St, Sheridan, WY 82801, is the controller of personal information collected through bunnymoonpublishing.com. Contact us about anything in this policy through the contact form.

2. What we collect

• Contact form messages. When you write to us we collect the name and email address you enter, the subject line, and the content of your message.
• Mailing list subscriptions. If you subscribe to a newsletter from the house or from one of our authors, we collect the email address you give us, the first name if you provide one, and the date and source of the subscription.
• Anti-spam verification. Our contact form uses hCaptcha to tell people apart from automated scripts. hCaptcha inspects signals from your browser and issues a pass or fail token. It does not build an advertising profile of you.
• Basic technical information. Our hosting provider records standard server and security logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested, date and time — for the purpose of serving the site and protecting it from abuse.

We do not collect payment card details, bank details or financial information through this website. No purchase is made here.

3. What we do not do

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We do not build advertising profiles from your use of this site, and we do not run third-party advertising trackers on it.

4. Why we may use your information, and on what basis

• To read and, where appropriate, answer your message — because you asked us to, and because we have a legitimate interest in running the house properly.
• To send you a newsletter or reader offer you asked for — on the basis of your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
• To keep the website and our contact form secure, working and free of abuse — on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating them.
• To meet a legal, tax or accounting obligation where one applies.

5. Mailing lists

Subscriptions are handled by MailerLite, an email service provider acting as our processor. Every email we send carries a one-click unsubscribe link, which takes effect immediately. Unsubscribing from one of our lists does not unsubscribe you from another; each list is separate, and each says who it is from. Sending us a message through the contact form does not add you to any mailing list.

6. Who else touches your data

We use a small number of service providers to run the house. They process data on our instructions only, and may not use it for their own purposes.

• Hosting and content delivery — Cloudflare, to serve this website.
• Contact form delivery — Web3Forms, which passes your message to our inbox.
• Anti-spam verification — hCaptcha, as described above.
• Email delivery and mailing lists — MailerLite.
• Email and file storage — for correspondence and the ordinary running of the business.
• Book delivery services — where you have asked us to send you a free or review copy of a book.

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.

Note that when you buy one of our books from a retailer, that retailer is a separate controller of your data under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your name, address or payment details from those sales — only aggregate sales figures.

7. International transfers

We are based in the United States and some of our service providers operate in the United States or the European Union. Where personal information is transferred out of the country you live in, we rely on our providers' standard contractual clauses or an equivalent lawful transfer mechanism.

8. How long we keep it

Contact form messages and correspondence are kept for as long as they are useful to the matter they concern, and then deleted. Mailing list data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it. Server logs are kept for a short period by our host. Records we must keep for tax or accounting reasons are kept for the period the law requires.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live — and this includes the rights given by the GDPR in the UK and EU, and by state privacy laws in the United States — you may have the right to ask us to give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, provide it in a portable form, or withdraw a consent you previously gave.

You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.

To exercise any right, write to us through the contact form. We will respond within the period the applicable law requires, and in any case as quickly as we reasonably can. If you are in the EU or UK and you are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your national data protection authority.

10. Cookies

This website does not set advertising or analytics cookies and does not track you across other sites. Any cookie set is strictly necessary to deliver the page you asked for or to run the anti-spam check on the contact form.

11. Children

This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, tell us through the contact form and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the revised version will appear on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes affecting how we use information already collected will be notified to affected subscribers by email.
